Privacy Policy

BringUp (“BringUp,” “we,” “us”) is a web app for PCB bring-up and debugging, available at usebringup.com and operated by an independent developer based in South Carolina, USA. This policy explains what information we collect when you use BringUp, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email support@usebringup.com.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address and password when you create an account. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form; we never see them in plain text.
• Profile information. A display name and profile picture, if you add them.
• Content you create. Boards, bring-up log entries, bills of materials, checklists and rail measurements, files you upload (such as schematics, Gerbers, images, and documents), reference notes and their images, and your recent calculator results.
• Feedback. Anything you send through the in-app “Report an issue” or “Request a feature” forms, along with your account email so we can reply.
• Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, and provides us with aggregate visitor statistics.
• Information stored in your browser. BringUp uses your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme, dismissed tips, and checklist-generator inputs. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use information

• To provide and operate BringUp, including saving your work and syncing it between the collaborators you choose.
• To power features you use, such as searching your past log entries for similar issues, searching the web for a symptom, and looking up parts from Mouser.
• To respond to support requests and feedback.
• To keep BringUp secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
• To understand, in aggregate, how BringUp is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.

Services that process your information

BringUp relies on a small number of service providers. Each only receives what it needs to provide its part of the service:

• Lovable hosts the app and its backend, including the database and file storage (built on Supabase), where your account and content are stored.
• Lovable’s AI gateway sends the symptom text of your log entries to OpenAI to create the search index behind “Similar past issues,” and sends web search results to Google’s Gemini models to write the “What might have fixed it” summary.
• Tavily receives the symptom text you choose to search the web for.
• Mouser Electronics receives the part numbers or keywords you look up.
• Resend delivers feedback submissions to our support inbox.
• Cloudflare provides our domain name service and support email routing.
• Google Fonts serves the fonts used on the site, which means your browser requests them from Google’s servers.

If you connect an AI assistant (such as Claude) to BringUp through the AI agent integration in Settings, that assistant can read and add to your BringUp data within the permissions you approve, and its handling of that data is governed by its provider’s own policies.

Who can see your content

Your boards and notes are private by default. You decide when to share: collaborators you invite to a board can see it (and editors can change it), and if you turn on a board’s public read-only link, anyone with that link can view that board. You can remove collaborators or turn off a public link at any time. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and security of BringUp and its users.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your profile, boards, log entries, bills of materials, checklists, uploaded files, reference notes, and calculator history. Feedback you have sent may be kept so we can continue improving BringUp, and copies in routine backups may take a short time to expire. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data or to have it corrected or deleted.

Security

BringUp is served over HTTPS, and access to your content is restricted by account-level permissions in our database. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and let us know right away if you notice anything suspicious.

Children

BringUp is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as BringUp changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will let account holders know by email or in the app.
